Deep Blue Divers Kanuhura - Baa Atoll
The team at Deep Blue Divers Kanuhura are, quite simply, superb. We’ve always been big fans of diving in Baa Atoll, especially for the chance of manta encounters in Hanifaru Bay, but these guys elevate the experience. They operate out of the gorgeous Six Senses Kanuhura resort, which means the boats are always in top shape, and the gear is well-maintained. What we really appreciate about Deep Blue Divers is their local knowledge. While everyone heads for Hanifaru in season, they know the quieter reefs that still deliver big thrills – think grey reef sharks patrolling channels and schools of eagle rays gliding past. We spent an incredible morning drift diving a thila with them, feeling the current push us past huge gorgonian fans and a resident napoleon wrasse. Their guides are brilliant at spotting the small stuff too, pointing out camouflaged scorpionfish and pipefish tucked into crevices. They run PADI courses, from Discover Scuba Dives up to Divemaster, making it a great choice for families or groups with mixed experience levels. We’d suggest booking your dives early, especially during peak season, as they keep group sizes small for a more personal feel.
