Haï Siang, wreck - Saint-Gilles & West Coast

The Haï Siang isn’t just a sunken boat, it’s a proper deep dive with a story. Sitting upright at 50m, this old longliner was intentionally scuttled back in the early 90s, and it’s aged beautifully since. We love the way the light filters down through the upper structure, especially on a sunny morning. Inside, it’s mostly clear of fishing gear, which makes penetration a little easier, though we always recommend a good light and plenty of gas for deep wreck work like this. Look out for the resident scorpionfish camouflaged on the deck, and we've spotted some impressively large groupers taking shelter in the holds. It’s an intermediate dive, certainly, and you'll want to be comfortable with your deep stops, but for those with the right training, it’s a fantastic example of a well-preserved artificial reef. We find it’s best dived first thing in the morning, before any thermoclines really settle in, when the visibility tends to be at its best.
