Dindini Wall - Mafia Island

Costao dos Aquarios on Ilha de Buzios is one of our favourites in Arraial, especially when you want something a bit more active. It’s a rocky point that sticks out from the island, so you’re pretty exposed to whatever current is running that day. That’s usually a good thing though, as it brings in the bigger schools. We’ve seen doctorfish and sergeant-major so thick here they almost obscure the rock formations. The site itself is a jumble of massive boulders down to about 13 metres, creating a maze of swim-throughs and crevices. It's prime real estate for dusky groupers and those colourful tuiupiranga parrotfish. Keep an eye on the sandy patches between the rocks for stingrays; they often settle there, partially buried. This spot is brilliant for divers who enjoy a drift, who don’t mind a bit of movement, and who get a kick out of seeing big schools of fish.
