MARIA - Ksamil

Dropping onto the Maria, you’re looking at a piece of history resting at 52 metres. She went down in ‘79, a non-dangerous wreck, meaning it's generally intact and not full of unexploded ordnance, which is always a bonus. The structure itself is a haven for the usual Mediterranean suspects – dusky groupers often peek out from shadowy corners, and schools of damselfish flit around the superstructure. It's a dive that rewards careful exploration, not a quick fly-by. We’d say it suits experienced divers comfortable with deeper profiles, those who appreciate the quiet dignity of a wreck and the small dramas of the marine life making it home.
