MOSTELA - Ksamil

Mostela is an absolute standout. We love it for its sheer accessibility and the sense of history that hangs over the wreck. At just 8 metres deep, it’s a perfect site for newer divers or those who just want a relaxed potter around, but don’t mistake its shallow depth for lack of interest. This isn't some broken-up pile of metal. Mostela is a fairly intact patrol boat, sitting upright on the seabed. You can see the deck gun, still in position, and the superstructure is largely there, offering plenty of nooks and crannies to peer into. We’ve spent ages just finning around it, watching schools of juvenile barracuda dart through the gaps. Look closer, and you’ll find nudibranchs clinging to the railings and colourful sponges growing on every surface. It feels like a time capsule. Our favourite thing to do is circle the bow, where the light plays beautifully off the encrusted metal. We’d suggest going in the morning; the sun angle really brings out the textures. No strong currents here, just calm, easy diving.
