Constandis - Larnaca

The Constandis, an old fishing trawler, sits upright at around 24 meters, not far from the famous Zenobia. We think it’s often overlooked, and that’s a real shame because it’s a lovely little wreck. You can drop down directly onto the bridge, which is usually teeming with shoals of sardines in the summer months, reflecting the sunlight like scattered glitter. Our favourite part is the engine room. It’s open, so you can easily fin through, and you’ll often find conger eels tucked into the dark corners. The bow area attracts the bigger stuff, we’ve seen quite a few Garrupa patrolling there. Look closely at the deck, especially around the winches; Mediterranean tapeweed provides good camouflage for pipefish and small blennies. Visibility is usually good, often 20 meters or more, which makes for some great photo opportunities. It's an easy dive, perfect for those looking for a relaxed wreck exploration, perhaps as a second dive after something deeper. If you hit it mid-week, you might even have it to yourself.
