NICOLAS - Larnaca

Nicolas is one of those sites we always recommend for a relaxed afternoon dive, especially if you’ve got newer divers in the group or just want to shake off the rust. It’s a shallow wreck, sitting at just a meter deep, which makes it perfect for long bottom times and really soaking in the details. What we love about Nicolas is how much of the original motor vessel is still recognisable, despite the years. You can clearly make out the bow and stern, and the holds are easy to peek into. The real draw here, though, is how marine life has completely taken over. We've often seen schools of sea bream darting through the superstructure, and the resident groupers are surprisingly bold, letting you get quite close before they vanish into a shadowy crevice. On a sunny day, the light filters through the shallow water, making the whole wreck glow a soft blue. It’s a comfortable dive, no strong currents to contend with, just pure exploration. For photographers, the ambient light is fantastic, and you’ll find plenty of macro subjects clinging to the rusted metal.
