Adlergrund - Bornholm

Sarn Badrig, or St. Patrick’s Causeway, isn't your typical Cornish dive; it’s a geological marvel that stretches for miles off the coast. We love the sheer oddity of diving what feels like a submerged, ancient road. It’s a low-lying reef, more a long, linear shingle bank, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's barren. The real draw here is the scale and the history, not necessarily the vibrant corals. Visibility can be a mixed bag, as it often is in the UK, but on a good day, you’ll drop down onto a seabed dotted with life clinging to the stones. Think a parade of crabs scuttling over the shingle, conger eels peering from under larger rocks, and often, we’ve spotted European squid darting through the water column. Keep an eye out for the common scoters feeding in the shallows – a good sign of healthy benthic life. This site is best for divers who appreciate unique topography and the subtle beauty of temperate waters, rather than those chasing tropical colours. Dive it on a neap tide for the most comfortable experience.
