AegeanSeals Diving Center - Alonissos Marine Park
The team at AegeanSeals Diving Center are exactly the kind of crew you want to be diving with in Greece. They’ve been exploring Alonissos Marine Park for years and it shows in their easy confidence and local knowledge. This is where we’d send friends looking to really dig into the unique history and geology of the Northern Sporades, especially if they’re keen on finding those elusive Mediterranean monk seals. We love that they’re a PADI 5 Star IDC centre, which means the instruction is top-notch, whether you’re learning to dive or pushing for instructor ratings. Their specialisation in Ocean Reef full-face mask training is also a big plus for anyone wanting to try something different, or simply stay warmer in the cooler shoulder seasons. Our favourite aspect, though, is their commitment to the marine park itself – you feel like you’re diving with people who genuinely care about the fragile ecosystem. We’d suggest going in early summer, before the peak crowds, when the water is warming up and the visibility is often at its clearest, sometimes feeling like you’re floating in gin. The boat rides out can be breezy, but the dramatic cliffs and the electric blue water are always worth it.
