L.C.T. 328 - Zakynthos & Ionian Islands

We love a good wreck, especially one with a story, and the L.C.T. 328 offers just that, right in the shallows of Zakynthos. This isn't some deep, dark mystery; it's a piece of history you can practically walk to, sunk on December 5th, 1944. It’s sitting at a mere 4 metres, which makes it perfect for longer bottom times and really soaking in the details. The hull itself is a skeleton now, completely covered in sponges and algae, providing shelter for all sorts of smaller critters. Look closely, and you’ll spot blennies poking their heads out, tiny gobies darting between the metal plates, and sometimes a curious octopus tucked away in a crevice. We’d suggest going early in the morning before any surface chop picks up; the calm water lets you appreciate the sheer scale of the landing craft and how it's become part of the seabed. It's a fantastic site for photographers, snorkelers, or newer divers looking for an easy, rewarding exploration.
