INDUSTRIA - Sardinia

Industria isn't your typical Mediterranean wreck. It's a wooden sailing ship, sunk just a few meters deep, broken up but still very much there, scattered over a sandy bottom. We love how the light plays through the shallow water, illuminating the ribs and hull planks, giving it an almost ghostly feel. It feels less like a dive site and more like an archaeological dig you've stumbled upon. This is a dive for history buffs and photographers, especially those with an eye for intimate detail. You'll spend your time gently finning over the debris, peering into crevices where octopuses hide and small schools of damselfish flit between the timbers. Look for the copper sheathing still clinging to some of the larger pieces. It's a peaceful, contemplative dive, a stark contrast to some of Sardinia's deeper, more challenging wrecks. We'd suggest aiming for a calm morning; the visibility can be stellar then, making those details really pop. Bring a macro lens if you have one; the smaller critters here are fascinating.
