KT Wreck - Sardinia
The KT Wreck off Sardinia is one of our favourite dives in the Mediterranean for a reason. This German cargo ship, a casualty of WWII, lies perfectly upright from 30m down to a max of 45m. We love the way she’s mostly intact, offering some truly excellent penetration opportunities – though you’ll want proper training and gear for that. Inside, the light filters through the occasional porthole, illuminating massive schools of cardinal fish. Outside, the superstructure hosts rough pitar clams and delicate red coral. Keep an eye out for inquisitive brown combers and the occasional loggerhead turtle cruising by. It’s an advanced dive, for sure, with some currents possible, so check conditions beforehand. We’d suggest a twinset or sidemount setup to really make the most of the penetration; you won't want to cut your exploration short. This isn't just a pile of metal, it’s a living museum.
