MARZAMEMI - Ustica

Marzamemi isn't your typical Ustica deep dive, and honestly, we love it for that. At a mere 7 meters, this wreck site proves that depth is just a number. It's the remains of a merchant ship, torpedoed during WWII, now a wonderfully accessible jumble of metal. You can spend an entire dive just poking around the scattered ribs and plating, imagining the history that put it there. What really makes Marzamemi special is the light. Sunlight streams through the shallow water, illuminating every detail of the wreck and the life that calls it home. We often spot octopus tucked into crevices, their eyes watching us with unnerving intelligence, and clouds of damselfish shimmer above the corroded beams. For photographers, it’s a dream – the ambient light is fantastic, and the scale of the wreck is manageable for wide-angle shots. It’s a site that proves you don’t need extreme depths for a truly engaging dive.
