The ATLA wreck off Ustica offers a solid dive, particularly if you’re keen on exploring a sunken vessel. Lying at 31 metres, it’s a fishing boat that went down some time ago, and the Mediterranean has certainly started reclaiming it. What we really like about the ATLA is the way groupers have made it their home; you’ll often spot them lurking in the deeper holds, alongside nudibranchs that graze the hull. It’s a comfortable dive for those with Advanced Open Water or equivalent, with currents usually quite mild, allowing for a good circuit around the deck and superstructure.

    Safety Notes

Deep dive (31m) - monitor air consumption closely. Advanced certification recommended.

Wreck site - avoid penetration without wreck diving certification. Watch for sharp metal and entanglement hazards.

Always perform a 3-minute safety stop at 5m before surfacing.
