MAFRE - Comino

The Mafre wreck, resting at a shallow 10 metres off Comino, offers a neat little dive, especially when you’re after something straightforward. It’s the remains of a yacht, sunk back in '77 after a run-in with rocks near Valletta. What’s left isn’t huge, but it's a pleasant enough spot for newer divers or those looking for a relaxed second dive. We’ve found plenty of small stuff around the structure – scorpionfish hunkering down, schools of juvenile damselfish darting between the metalwork. The main draw here is the accessibility and the chance to explore a modest wreck without worrying about depth or complex navigation. Good for a gentle bimble.
