VICTORIA - Comino
The Victoria, resting in a mere 4 metres off Comino, is a proper charmer of a wreck. We love how accessible it is, a perfect second dive or even a snorkel if you’re keen on seeing something more than just rocks. It’s a small motor vessel, 16 metres long, broken into a few sections now, but still very much a wreck, not just a pile of debris. You’ll find the bow, mid-section, and stern spread out, creating plenty of nooks. What makes the Victoria special for us isn’t its size, but the way light plays through the gaps, especially on a sunny afternoon. Schools of juvenile damselfish flick in and out of the rusted plating. Look closely and you’ll spot blennies eyeing you from behind a growth of algae, and small octopus sometimes tuck themselves into the broken hull. It’s a great spot for macro photography, or just cruising leisurely, observing the details. We'd suggest going in the morning before any boat traffic picks up; it really enhances the calm. It’s ideal for newer divers or those who prefer a relaxed pace, where you can take your time exploring the history without feeling rushed.
