THOMAS PICKERING is a wreck dive where divers can encounter dolphins, ocean sunfish (mola mola) and sea turtles. Water ranges 16-28°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Thomas Pickering rests upright on the seabed at 55m off Gozo, a deep wreck for experienced technical divers. We’ve found the stern section, with its intact propeller, to be a highlight, though the wreck itself is largely broken up. Shoals of barracuda often circle the superstructure, and octopuses can be spotted hiding amongst the debris. It’s a site for those keen on deeper exploration, not for casual recreational dives.
