Patrol Boat PBR512 wreck - Budva & Bar
The PBR512 patrol boat wreck in Montenegro is one of those dives that just makes you smile. It sits upright, proud, at a comfortable 22 metres, making it perfectly accessible for newer wreck divers or anyone looking for a relaxed afternoon under the waves. We love how intact it is; the wheelhouse is still there, and you can poke your head into some of the open hatches. It feels like the crew just stepped off for lunch. What really sells the PBR512 for us is the atmosphere. Visibility is often excellent, letting sunlight stream through the Mediterranean blue, illuminating the boat’s dark silhouette against the sandy bottom. Schools of glinting damselfish flit in and out of the superstructure, and you’ll find scorpionfish camouflaged on the deck, waiting patiently. Our favourite moment here is swimming along the stern, watching the propeller shafts disappear into the gloom. It’s a proper wreck dive, but without any of the challenging currents or depths that can put people off. A genuine pleasure.
