With 116+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Batelão offers some of Algarve & Berlengas's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 15-19°C, warmest June, October, November.
The Batelão site, just off the Algarve coast, is a straightforward dive, topping out at 11 metres. It’s perfect for new divers or those looking for a relaxed time in the water. We’ve found various smaller fish species here, moving through rocky outcrops and sand patches. Expect a gentle drift on most days; a good spot to practice buoyancy.
