CINTA CONCEPCION - Algarve & Berlengas
The Cinta Concepcion isn't about deep exploration; it's a shallow, friendly wreck dive that’s perfect for a second dip or for those just getting comfortable with wrecks. Resting at a gentle five metres, this old fishing vessel offers an immediate sense of history as you descend onto its barnacle-encrusted hull. We love how the light plays on the structure, highlighting schools of juvenile barracuda that often hang just off the bow, flickering in unison. You can easily circumnavigate the wreck several times, peeking into what remains of the wheelhouse or examining the propeller for signs of blennies and gobies. Our favourite detail is the way the metal has warped over time, creating nooks and crannies where octopus often hide, their eyes tracking you curiously. It’s a gentle introduction to wreck diving, with enough interesting features and resident fish to keep your attention without ever feeling overwhelming. The currents here are usually mild, making it a relaxing dive suitable for almost everyone.
