With 116+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Pedra da Malha offers some of Algarve & Berlengas's richest diving. Water ranges 15-19°C, warmest June, October, November.
Pedra da Malha is a decent introduction to diving in the Algarve, especially if you're just getting your fins wet. At a mellow 13 metres, it’s a calm spot to descend and get comfortable. We've seen plenty of smaller wrasse darting around the rocks, and it's a good place to spot cuttlefish if you take your time and look closely. It's a beginner-friendly site, perfect for getting back in the water or for less experienced divers wanting a relaxed exploration.
