Recife do Algarve - Pedra do Valado
Why dive here
With 116+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Pedra Nova offers some of Algarve & Berlengas's richest diving. Water ranges 15-19°C, warmest June, October, November.
Pedra Nova is an Algarve shore dive, easily accessible and a good spot for newer divers getting comfortable in the local waters. You’ll find a mix of rocky outcrops and sandy patches, home to crabs, small octopus, and various wrasse species. It’s not a deep dive, making it ideal for longer bottom times and practicing buoyancy. We’d suggest it for an easy afternoon outing.
