Ponta da Passagem, sitting off the Algarve coast, is a solid choice for a laid-back dive. It’s a shallow spot, topping out at 15 metres, which means plenty of bottom time and sunlight piercing through. We’ve drifted along here often, spotting cuttlefish darting into crevices and octopus peeking from under rocks. It’s not a thrill-a-minute kind of place, but for those new to the game or just looking for an easy afternoon under the waves, it’s reliably pleasant. Expect easy conditions and a relaxed pace.
