RIVERO VAZQUEZ - Algarve & Berlengas
The Rivero Vazquez wreck, sitting upright at 27 metres, offers a decent dive for those exploring the Algarve’s deeper sites. This old fishing vessel has become home to a surprising amount of life. We've seen conger eels poking out from hatches and schools of sea bream darting around the superstructure. It's an exposed wreck, so there’s often a bit of current to contend with, which keeps the visibility pretty good but means you need to be comfortable with drift. The deckhouse and wheelhouse are still largely intact, allowing for some interesting swim-throughs if you're appropriately trained and equipped. It's a proper wreck dive, best suited for advanced divers who appreciate the history and the marine growth on a relatively undisturbed site.
