SUSAN - Algarve & Berlengas
The SUSAN wreck, a motor vessel that went down in 1973 after hitting a submerged object, now sits close to shore, making it an accessible dive for many. What you’ll find here is a classic shipwreck experience: the hull and superstructure are still largely intact, offering plenty of nooks to poke around in. Schools of sea bream often congregate around the deeper sections, and we’ve seen conger eels tucked into the darker corners. It’s a good spot if you’re keen to practise your wreck diving skills without significant depth or current challenges, and the historical aspect adds a nice layer to the dive.
