VOLO - Algarve & Berlengas
The Volo is a shallow wreck, resting at a comfortable three metres, making it an ideal spot for newer divers or those looking for a leisurely second dive. This 75-metre steamship, sunk in 1894, offers a surprisingly intact structure despite its age. You can clearly make out the bow and stern, with sections of the hull still standing proud, creating plenty of nooks and crannies for resident octopuses and schools of small fish. It’s a nice gentle drift over history, with sunlight dappling through the water, illuminating the rust-coloured metal and the occasional passing ray.
