Why dive here
With 116+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Zimbral offers some of Algarve & Berlengas's richest diving. Water ranges 15-19°C, warmest June, October, November.
The Zimbral offers a straightforward dive, popular with local dive centres in the Algarve. Expect a rocky reef with scattered boulders, often home to octopuses, cuttlefish, and the occasional moray eel peeking from crevices. It’s a good spot for newer divers looking for an easy introduction to Atlantic diving without strong currents. Visibility averages around 10-15 metres on a good day.
