Aloès Plongée - Medes Islands
The team at Aloès Plongée are exactly the kind of crew we love diving with. They’re based in Cerbère, not right on the Medes Islands, but they know the whole coastline, including some spots we think are often overlooked for the bigger names. We’ve found they’re particularly good at introducing new divers to the Mediterranean, making those first breaths underwater feel incredibly natural and safe. If you’re looking to get certified or just do an intro dive, these folks have a real knack for it, guiding you gently into the world of groupers and moray eels without any fuss. Our favourite dives with Aloès are often in the less exposed areas, where the gorgonians stand tall and proud, a rich orange and red against the blue. You’ll frequently spot playful octopus here, their skin rippling with colour changes as they size you up. We'd suggest asking them about the sites that offer a bit more shelter from the prevailing winds; sometimes the conditions on the main Medes Islands sites can be a bit choppy, and they know the quieter corners where the visibility holds beautifully. They manage their trips well, keeping the boats from feeling overcrowded, which always makes for a more relaxed experience. It’s that personal touch, knowing you’re in good hands, that keeps us coming back.
