Uçak Batığı - Bodrum

Uçak Batığı, the C-47 Dakota wreck, is one of those sites we always make time for when we're in Bodrum. It’s not just a plane; it’s a time capsule sitting upright on the seabed, perfectly preserved. We love how the light filters down, illuminating the cockpit and fuselage, making you feel like you've stumbled onto a forgotten film set. Our favourite part is gliding through the cargo hold, where schools of glasseye fish shimmer in the shadows, their eyes catching the light. The plane itself is a magnet for marine life. Look closely around the wings and you'll spot ornate wrasse darting between the crevices, and sometimes, a loggerhead turtle will cruise lazily by, seemingly unfazed by divers. We’d suggest going early in the morning, before the crowds, to truly appreciate the quiet grandeur of the wreck. The visibility here can be superb, offering long sightlines along the fuselage – a real treat for photographers. It’s an easy dive, suitable for most levels, allowing plenty of time to explore the wreck's every detail without feeling rushed.
