Canyon
Why dive here
Canyon is a dive where divers can encounter dolphins, sea turtles and sperm whales.
The Canyon in Kas is exactly what it sounds like, a deep cut in the seabed that starts around 10 meters and drops to 30. We love dropping into the mouth and exploring the overhangs, keeping an eye out for octopus tucked away in crevices and some pretty hefty groupers that have made the walls their home. The sponges here are particularly vivid, adding splashes of colour to the rock. It’s a site that suits intermediate divers well, especially those who appreciate a bit of dramatic topography. Look for schools of yellow barracuda hanging out in the bluer water, and the occasional marbled spinefoot darting amongst the rocks.
