BIJOU - Northumberland & Northeast

The Bijou, a small carrier vessel that went down in 1977, sits upright at 39 meters. She's a compact wreck at only 47.9 meters long, but that just means she's well-preserved and penetrable in places for those with the right training. We’ve found her to be a good spot for lobsters tucked into nooks and crannies, and plenty of inquisitive conger eels peeking out from the darker sections. Given the depth and exposure, this site is definitely one for experienced divers comfortable with colder water and potential currents, but it’s a rewarding dive for wreck enthusiasts.
