BLUE STAR - Northumberland & Northeast

The Blue Star, a small barge that went down back in '81 while being towed, sits upright at 40 metres, making it a good, straightforward dive for those comfortable at depth. It’s not a massive wreck, only 27 metres long, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in character. You can poke around the hold, which is home to some chunky lobsters and sometimes a few inquisitive wrasse. Around the structure itself, we’ve often spotted decent-sized cod lurking in the shadows and plenty of crab scuttling across the deck plates. It’s a solid dive for wreck enthusiasts keen on a deeper, compact exploration.
