CROWN - Northumberland & Northeast

The Crown, a steam trawler lost in 1906, sits upright in only 8 metres of water off the Northumberland coast. It’s a great little dive for newer wreck enthusiasts, or when the weather's chopped up the deeper sites. We usually start at the boiler, it's pretty prominent, then explore the rest of the 39-metre hull which is now well broken but still recognisable. Expect to find plenty of crabs tucked into crevices and small schools of wrasse darting around the plates. Visibility can be a bit variable here, but on a good day, it’s a very pleasant way to spend an hour underwater.
