DARRO - Northumberland & Northeast

The *Darro* wreck, resting shallow at 1m, is an approachable dive for those exploring Northumberland’s coastline. This steamship, lost to the Cletts rocks in thick fog back in 1901, now presents a scattered but intriguing outline on the seabed. We often find pollack and wrasse darting through the broken sections, while crabs and lobsters tuck themselves into the nooks of the plating. It’s a site that really suits new wreck divers or those looking for a relaxed, shallow exploration, particularly on a calm day when the surge isn’t too strong.
