DEVA - Northumberland & Northeast

The Deva, a barge that caught fire and sank back in 1924, sits in the shallows just off the Northumberland coast. It's not a deep dive, peaking at about two metres, making it a great spot for a relaxed snorkel or a quick intro to wreck diving without the pressure. What you’ll find is the skeletal remains of the barge, now well-colonised by local marine life. Think crabs scuttling over the plates and small schools of fish darting through the rusted framework. It’s a good little dive if you’re looking for something accessible and historically interesting, particularly on a calm day when visibility lets you appreciate the details.
