Fairisle - Northumberland & Northeast

The Fairisle wreck holds a special place for us, a favourite for a relaxed afternoon dive when the North Sea is playing nice. She’s not deep, just 5 metres, which means bottom time isn't an issue. We love drifting over her scattered remains, seeing the bow section relatively intact and the stern a bit more broken up. You’ll want to time this with slack water; the current can really rip here, making for an unnecessarily hard swim. We’ve had some cracking dives exploring the engine room, often finding a grumpy conger eel peering out. The structure itself is just a skeleton now, but it's a fantastic haven for critters. Look closely and you’ll spot velvet swimming crabs scuttling over the plates, dogfish eggs tucked into crevices, and sometimes, if you're lucky, an inquisitive grey seal will pop by to say hello. It's an easy dive, perfect for photographers or anyone wanting to spend quality time inspecting a piece of history.
