FB 110 (POSSIBLY) - Northumberland & Northeast

The FB 110, or 'Possibly' as it’s affectionately known, is a site we’re genuinely fond of here in the Northeast. At 37 meters, it’s a proper dive, a hefty old barge sunk deliberately by the Mersey Docks & Harbour Board. What we love about it is how complete it still feels, the structure largely intact, which isn't always a given for wrecks around here. Dropping down, the silhouette of the barge slowly emerges from the green North Sea murk. The flat deck is a patchwork of dead men’s fingers and plumose anemones, creating this soft, white carpet that shimmers in your torch beam. Look closely for the smaller stuff – nudibranchs are often tucked into crevices, and we’ve seen some decent-sized ling lurking in the darker corners, keeping an eye on you. Our tip: slack water is essential here; the currents can be a real push when they get going. It’s a dive for those who appreciate solid wreck penetration and the way the North Sea reclaims its own.
