FB 265 (POSSIBLY) - Northumberland & Northeast

The FB 265, often just called "Possibly," is a proper North Sea wreck, sitting upright at 39 metres. It’s a big barge, dumped here by the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board, which gives it a certain industrial charm. When you drop down, the sheer scale of it becomes apparent. We love how the metalwork, all those plates and girders, creates a perfect habitat for local life. You'll spend most of your bottom time finning over the deck, peering into the open holds where conger eels lurk. It’s dark down there, even on a sunny day, so good lights are essential. We often spot massive lobsters tucked into crevices, their antennae waving in the current. The visibility can be a bit of a lottery, sometimes twenty metres, sometimes five, but even in murkier conditions, the structure is so defined it’s still a fantastic exploration. Our favourite part is finding the little nooks that have become home to colourful jewel anemones, a surprising splash of brightness against the rust. This site truly suits divers who appreciate a substantial wreck and don't mind the chill of Northern waters. It’s a solid dive for those with deep wreck experience.
