FB 56 (POSSIBLY) - Northumberland & Northeast

The FB 56, or “Possibly” as we call it, is one of those deeper North Sea wrecks that just keeps giving. This isn't some pristine, intact vessel; it’s a working barge, scuttled after its service, now broken but still substantial. Dropping onto it at 37 metres, you’re often greeted by the ethereal glow of your torch beam picking out dense shoals of coalfish darting through the superstructure. We love the industrial feel of it, the twisted metal and thick plates offering endless nooks for life to take hold. Look for the massive lobsters tucked into the debris and the curious wolf fish peering out from under the broken plating. It’s a site best enjoyed on a calmer day, with decent visibility, allowing you to appreciate the scale of the wreck and the sheer quantity of life that calls it home. The "Possibly" is a great dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts who appreciate the atmosphere of a working vessel reclaimed by the sea.
