Fostimore - Northumberland & Northeast

Fostimore is one of our absolute favourite Northumberland wrecks, a proper dive if you like a bit of history and depth. Dropping onto her, you’re often greeted by decent visibility, enough to get a real sense of her scale as she rests upright at 53 metres. We love that the hull is still largely intact, giving you genuine penetration options into the holds. You can imagine the cargo she carried on that fateful journey from Garston to Nantes in 1898. The real draw here, beyond the history, is how the ocean has claimed her. Dead man’s fingers coat the upper decks, swaying gently in the current, and you’ll often spot a wolf fish or two tucked into the deeper recesses of the engine room. It’s a proper expedition, and definitely one for experienced divers comfortable with deeper air or even mixed gas. Our tip? Plan your dive to hit the slack tide; the currents here can be a bit lively otherwise. It makes all the difference when you’re trying to really soak in the atmosphere.
