GALLENSTONE (POSSIBLY) - Northumberland & Northeast

The Gallenstone, or what we strongly suspect is the Gallenstone, sits as a jumble of twisted metal on the seabed, a proper North Sea wreck dive. It’s not about vibrant corals here; this is about history and the hardy creatures that thrive in colder waters. We love picking through the debris, trying to piece together the ship's original form from the skeletal ribs and hull plates. Expect to see plenty of wrasse darting between the girders, their colours surprisingly vivid against the grey steel, and inquisitive seals often make an appearance, playfully circling divers. This site truly suits those who appreciate the raw, wild beauty of a temperate wreck and the challenge of uncovering its story, rather than just ticking off big fish.
