JERSEYMOOR - Northumberland & Northeast

The *Jerseymoor* is a cracking little shore dive, perfect for when you just want to get wet without the boat faff. We love it because it’s so accessible, sitting right on Burbo Bank. At just a metre deep, it’s not going to challenge your deco limits, but that’s precisely its charm. You’ll be exploring the ribs and plates of this steamship, sunk in 1915, right up close. The structure, though broken, still gives a sense of its size, all 104 metres of it. Visibility can swing wildly, so pick your day – a calm tide and a bit of sun will make all the difference. When it’s clear, you can trace the hull's outline, seeing the skeletal remains of a working ship. Crabs scuttle through the metalwork, and we often spot small pollack darting between the rusted sections. It’s a great site for photographers who enjoy macro work or want to capture the abstract beauty of a shallow wreck. Don't expect dramatic swim-throughs, but the interplay of light and shadow on the remains is genuinely captivating. It's a proper British shore dive, honest and full of character.
