KATY - Northumberland & Northeast

The Katy is a small trawler, only about nine metres long, that went down in 1994. She sits upright and mostly intact on a flat seabed at eight metres, making her a relatively easy dive. You can often see the remains of her netting draped across the structure, now heavily encrusted with dead man's fingers and colourful jewel anemones. We've seen plenty of wrasse darting in and out of the hull, and crabs scuttling across the deck. It’s a nice, calm wreck to explore, good for a relaxed dive if you’re looking for something accessible off the Northumberland coast.
