LAURA - Northumberland & Northeast

The Laura, a wooden sailing vessel that went down after a collision in 1874, now sits in 15 meters of water off Northumberland. What remains isn't a grand, intact wreck, but rather a dispersed field of timbers. We’ve found her to be a great spot for those who enjoy poking around debris, with lobsters tucked into every crevice and plenty of crabs scuttling over the old wood. Visibility can be a bit variable here, as is typical for the region, but when it’s good, the site offers a quiet dive with a palpable sense of history.
