LIDO - Northumberland & Northeast

The LIDO, a sailing vessel that went down after a collision in 1884, now rests about 900 yards southeast of New Brighton Stage. It's a proper wreck dive, sitting at 17m, which puts it nicely within recreational limits. We find the LIDO holds a decent amount of character, a wooden wreck that's broken up quite a bit over the years. You'll see parts of the hull, ribs, and scattered debris, all covered in anemones and dead man’s fingers, making for some decent wide-angle shots. The currents here can be a bit frisky, so we'd suggest planning your dive around slack water for the best experience. It's a solid dive for those who enjoy exploring maritime history rather than just looking at fish.
