LOTA - Northumberland & Northeast

The LOTA is one of those wrecks that grows on you, especially if you’re into the history. She’s a sailing vessel, sunk way back in 1916, and sits in a very forgiving 4-metre depth, making her ideal for newer divers or those looking for an easy potter. What’s left of her timbers now forms a low, scattered outline on the seabed, heavily encrusted with plumose anemones and dead man’s fingers. Look closely between the ribs and you’ll often spot a few lobsters peering out, or the darting shadow of a wrasse. It’s a gentle exploration, a quiet dive, perfect for honing buoyancy or just enjoying a calm afternoon below the surface.
