LUCIE (OR LUCY) - Northumberland & Northeast

The Lucie, she's a proper character. This schooner, sunk back in '28, is more than just a pile of plates; she's an honest-to-goodness piece of maritime history, sitting upright and surprisingly intact. We love how her hull still holds its shape, giving you real structure to explore, not just scattered debris. You'll find her colonised by the resident crabs, scuttling amongst the ribs, and those vibrant anemones clinging to every surface, adding splashes of unexpected colour to the steel. Visibility here can be a bit of a lottery, as it often is in the Northeast, but when it’s good, the natural light filtering through the water around her makes for a wonderfully atmospheric dive. We'd suggest timing your dive for slack water to really take your time poking around the engine room, feeling the cool current ghosting past the bow. It’s a rewarding dive for those who appreciate wrecks with a story, and aren’t afraid of a bit of murk to find it.
