MALIN - Northumberland & Northeast

The Malin isn’t going to rewrite your dive log, but it’s a perfectly decent local dip, especially if you’re new to wreck diving or just fancy a quick splash. This ex-lifeboat, a 6.1m steel hull, went down in 1994 and now sits in just three metres of water, barely offshore. It’s pretty broken up, but you can still make out the distinct shape of a smaller vessel, often attracting crabs and small fish seeking shelter among the metal. We’d suggest it for an easy second dive or for practicing navigation in a very shallow, contained environment.
