MILLET - Northumberland & Northeast

The Millet is a proper old-school North Sea wreck, and honestly, we love her for it. She’s not one of those intact museum pieces, but rather a proper jumble, scattered across the seabed at a depth that keeps things interesting without being punishing. You’ll find the remains of the barge spread out, a real tangled mess of metal that’s become home to a surprising amount of life. We’re talking conger eels peeking out of every dark corner, plump lobsters tucked away in crevices, and often, a shy monkfish buried in the sand nearby. It’s a site that rewards a slow, methodical search. Don’t expect soaring superstructures, but rather an intricate landscape of twisted plates and beams. We find it’s best dived on a neap tide, giving you maximum bottom time to really pick through the debris. Keep an eye out for the resident nudibranchs; they love the growth on the old iron. For divers who appreciate the history and the resilience of marine life adapting to a new environment, Millet offers a genuinely engaging dive. It’s perfect for those who enjoy exploring rather than simply observing.
