Missouri - Northumberland & Northeast

The Missouri is a proper northern wreck, sitting upright and mostly intact on a seabed that isn’t always the kindest. We love how much of her structure remains, making it a fantastic site for penetration, especially in the engine room – just make sure you're properly trained and equipped for overhead environments. The wreck often holds a surprising amount of life for its depth; we’ve seen some enormous ling tucked into crevices and always keep an eye out for inquisitive wolfish peering from behind plating. This isn't a beginner's dive. Currents can be a real factor, and visibility can swing from twenty metres to a few in a single day, particularly after a good blow. Our pick for diving here is usually a neap tide, right on slack water, to get the most out of the site without battling the flow. For anyone who appreciates a solid, explorable steel wreck with character, the Missouri delivers. You’ll feel the history of the place as you move through her decks, even with the surge pushing you around a bit.
